The City of Louisville is a Boulder County city of around 19,000 people. With its easy access into Boulder, and only minutes from the Flatirons Mall, Louisville has turned itself into one of the best cities in the country to live. Louisville was incorporated as a city in June of 1882 when it started as a coal mining town. From the late 1800s to the late 1920s, there were around 30 mines in or around the Louisville area. All the mines closed by 1952. Louisville currently has the Louisville Historical Museum that shows the culture of the city when it first began.


The public schools in Louisville are a part of the Boulder Valley School District. BVSD sets visionary goals for their students.
